Install Official Android 4.1.2 on your Galaxy S3 with Root and Kernel Security (I9300XXEMD2)

After a long wait, finally we have the official Android 4.1.2 firmware for Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 Free factory, it may already be installed manually using Odin in Spain and Latin America and that comes with the expected Premium Suite, and the bug patch Exynos chip and sudden death.

The big question?

All Android 4.1.2 firmwares released in January for Free Galaxy S3 come with the Exynos bug patch and Sudden Death, but it is advisable that you have a custom kernel to be more protected and able to calmly wipes whether you go or not have root access, and the most recommended is Philz Touch Recovery Kernel that is the end of this tutorial.

How to install Android 4.1.2 firmware on your Galaxy S3:

Important:

This firmware if you increase the update counter so you have to reset to zero with the app triangle away in case you need to take it to the warranty.

Run Odin3 v3.04.

Reboot your Galaxy S3 download mode (Home + power + vol down)

Connect your smartphone to your PC and Odin will turn a yellow or blue.

If you want root with Busybox | Root_SuperSU.0.98-Busybox.1.20.2-signed.zip (recommended).

If you just want root | Root_SuperSU.0.98.Only-signed.zip.

Turn off your Galaxy S3 and press Vol + + Home + Power and select install from SD Card and locate the file. Zip you go to flash only root or root with busybox, reboot your smartphone.

That’s all you will have root access on your Galaxy S3 with secure kernel that prevents sudden death and the Exynos chip bug.

    Hey is there a way to just get the Kernel for 4.1.2? I changed the kernel but of course Kies does not see it it’s a hassle to install it manually and add again all the apps. thank you 🙂
